Ropes Junior High and High School is set up to provide the best education possible to prepare students for success in a global economy and to be productive citizens in society. We accomplish this vision for our students through several avenues. The first avenue is the curriculum that is offered to students. We have both AP/Honors courses and Dual Credit courses available to students throughout their high school careers. We offer AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology. We offer any and all Dual Credit courses available through South Plains College such as College Algebra, English, Government, Economics, Agricultural Finance, etc.  In junior high we allow students to accelerate into high school Algebra.

 

The second method is through our technology program in which all junior high students have access to both a Chromebook and Wifi at school, and our HS students have 1:1 technology with Chromebooks.   We continue to train both our students and teachers in the use of the wealth of technology that is available today.  We realize that with changes in communication, this creates a necessity to educate our students on the importance of digital citizenship, as well.

 

Thirdly, our students participate in many efforts to give back to their community by raising funds for worthy causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Ovarian Cancer, Food Banks, etc.

We have been very successful in all these efforts, and our students graduate from Ropes High School with a great education that will carry them on into their future lives and careers. We have students that have gone on to major universities, local community colleges, the military or the job market. Ropes High School was selected in 2013 by U.S. News and World Report as one of the “Best High Schools in America."  This is the second time for this honor, which was also awarded to our high school in 2007.
