PURE EAGLES

Ropes ISD proudly celebrates eleventh grader Brody Mortensen for being awarded a #PUREEAGLE coin by Mr. Jay Sedberry and Mrs. Cathy Sawyer. This recognition honors students who exemplify character, leadership, and service—and Brody truly embodies what it means to have a servant’s heart.

During early rehearsals for an upcoming production, the backstage and costume areas of the auditorium were in need of attention. While the cast and crew initially worked together to clean and organize the space, frequent late nights and rehearsals began to take their toll. Without being asked, Brody quietly took it upon himself to stay behind and restore order. He picked up trash, hung costumes, swept the floors, and ensured the space was ready for the next day—allowing everyone else to head home.

Brody’s actions didn’t go unnoticed. This kind of initiative is typical of him. He’s often the first to arrive and the last to leave, always looking for ways to help others. Whether it’s staying late to clean up after rehearsal or assisting staff members with mobility needs, Brody consistently shows compassion and leadership in everything he does.

He is a shining example of the PURE EAGLE values—Family, P.R.I.D.E., Service, Integrity, and Accountability—and we’re proud to recognize him for his quiet commitment to excellence and care for others.

Ropes ISD is proud to recognize fifth grader Joanna Morris as a recipient of the #PUREEAGLE coin, presented by Mrs. Katherine Kucel. Joanna was honored for her outstanding demonstration of two core values of the PURE EAGLE spirit—service and family.

Joanna has gone above and beyond in her math class, taking time to help a new student adjust both academically and socially. She has not only offered academic support but has also patiently guided her new classmate through daily procedures, helping them adapt to life at a new school. Transitioning to a new environment can be a daunting experience, and Joanna’s thoughtful actions ensured that the student felt welcomed, supported, and included in the Ropes community.

Her kindness, initiative, and willingness to lead with compassion exemplify the heart of what it means to be a PURE EAGLE. We are so proud of Joanna for being a friend, a helper, and a role model for others at Ropes ISD.

Congratulations to sixth grader Taitum McCallister for being recognized as a #PUREEAGLE at Ropes ISD! Taitum was presented with a PURE EAGLE coin by Mrs. Stephanie Taylor for consistently showing initiative, responsibility, and pride in her school community.

Taitum earned this recognition after she was observed going above and beyond in the cafeteria, taking the time to clean up a mess left behind at a table—without being asked. Her actions demonstrated not only respect for her environment, but a strong sense of ownership and service. She continually goes the extra mile to meet expectations, follow through with responsibilities, and set a positive example for her peers.

Mrs. Taylor shared that she is incredibly proud of Taitum’s PURE EAGLE ownership. Taitum’s quiet leadership and willingness to do the right thing, even when no one is watching, embody the values of Family, P.R.I.D.E., Service, Integrity, and Accountability that define Ropes ISD.

Way to go, Taitum! Keep leading by example.

Ropes ISD proudly recognizes sixth grader Johnathan Garcia for receiving a #PUREEAGLE coin from Mrs. Toyia Senter in honor of his outstanding service and leadership.

Johnathan went above and beyond during the recent Book Fair by volunteering to help with setup—without being asked. He assisted with moving tables, placing tablecloths, unloading heavy boxes of books, and organizing materials to ensure everything was ready on time. Johnathan also carefully placed signs on the appropriate tables, helping create an organized and welcoming environment for students and families.

Thanks to his initiative and work ethic, the setup process was more efficient and less stressful for everyone involved. Johnathan’s willingness to step in, lend a hand, and show responsibility exemplifies the core values of what it means to be a PURE Eagle: Family, P.R.I.D.E., Service, Integrity, and Accountability.

Ropes ISD is honored to recognize Dr. Donovan Martin, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ropesville, as a recipient of the #PUREEAGLE coin, presented by school board member Mr. Donnie Halpain.

Dr. Martin was selected for this recognition in appreciation of his ongoing support, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to the students and staff of Ropes ISD. His presence and partnership have made a lasting difference—from offering his time and energy to serving as a trusted community leader who consistently shows up to support district events and initiatives.

The values Dr. Martin demonstrates—service, leadership, and a deep investment in the well-being of others—are at the heart of what it means to be a PURE Eagle. We are incredibly grateful to count him as part of the extended Eagle family and thank him for the many ways he uplifts and supports our district.

Ropes ISD is proud to recognize fourth grader Brayden Hughes as a PURE Eagle for exemplifying service, kindness, and initiative. Brayden was awarded the #PUREEAGLE coin by Mrs. Ciara Northern for his thoughtful and selfless actions during recess.

While assisting her Pre-K class, Mrs. Northern noticed a student struggling to tie his shoes. Without hesitation, Brayden stepped in to help. He carefully untangled the knots in the student’s shoelaces, put the shoes on for him, and—most remarkably—took the time to teach the student how to tie them independently. His helpfulness made a real impact and ensured the student felt supported and capable.

Brayden’s compassion, leadership, and willingness to serve without being asked truly reflect the values of a PURE Eagle. Thank you, Brayden, for showing what it means to lead with heart and integrity.

Ropes ISD proudly recognizes 9th grader Tanner Fair as a PURE Eagle for his positive spirit and thoughtful contribution to school culture. Tanner was awarded the #PUREEAGLE coin by Mr. Jeff Luning for his kindness and initiative in creating a welcoming environment each morning.

Over the week, Tanner has voluntarily been playing the piano in the auditorium before school starts, offering a calm and uplifting start to the day for his fellow students. His quiet leadership and desire to brighten someone else’s morning reflect the values of service, integrity, and heart that define the PURE EAGLE spirit.

Ropes ISD is proud to honor 6th grader Quentin Baldwin as a PURE Eagle. Quentin was nominated by Mrs. Candace Hiler and received the #PUREEAGLE coin for demonstrating outstanding honesty and integrity. When he found cash in a school hallway, Quentin immediately turned it in to the office’s lost and found—setting an example of doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

His actions reflect the core values of our district: integrity, accountability, and responsible citizenship. We commend Quentin for being a role model to his peers and a true representative of the PURE EAGLE spirit. Great job, Quentin!

Ropes ISD proudly recognizes Brayden Drake, an 11th grader, as a recipient of the #PUREEAGLE coin. Nominated by Mr. Brent Scoggins, Brayden exemplifies what it means to lead through quiet strength and steady service. Whether it’s in Ag Mechanics or other areas of campus life, Brayden is known for arriving early, staying late, and stepping in to meet needs before anyone asks.

He consistently models respect, responsibility, and initiative—core values of our district. Though his contributions often happen behind the scenes, they are essential to the success of many school events. Today, we honor Brayden not just for his work ethic, but for the example he sets every day as a PURE EAGLE.

Ropes ISD celebrates Emilee Guerra, a kindergarten student, as a recipient of the #PUREEAGLE coin. Nominated by district librarian Mrs. Toyia Senter, Emilee has been recognized for her kindness, attentiveness, and respectful classroom behavior. She listens carefully, follows directions with care, and consistently sets a positive example for her peers.

Emilee’s cheerful spirit and dedication to doing her best each day make her a joy to teach and a role model for her classmates. We are proud to honor Emilee for demonstrating the qualities of a PURE EAGLE at such a young age.

Ropes ISD is proud to recognize fifth grader Blakely Henson as a recipient of the #PUREEAGLE coin, awarded by Mrs. Heather Scoggins. Blakely’s kind heart and leadership shone through when a new student joined the fifth-grade class and was struggling to feel at home—especially in band. Blakely immediately stepped up, helping her new classmate get organized with supplies and offering one-on-one support during class.

By sitting beside the new student and answering questions throughout the day, Blakely made sure her peer felt welcomed and encouraged. Her compassion and willingness to lead by example reflect the very best of our Eagle community. Thank you, Blakely, for going above and beyond!
